What each result means
valid
The mailbox exists and accepts mail — safe to contact.
invalid
The mailbox doesn't exist, or the domain has no mail server — messages will bounce. Best to remove these from your list.
catch-all
The domain accepts every address, so we can't confirm this specific mailbox is real. It may or may not deliver — send with some caution.
risky
Deliverable, but flagged — for example a disposable/temporary domain, or a role address (info@, sales@). Use your judgement before contacting.
needs rDNS
A Yahoo- or AOL-run mailbox we can't check yet, because our sending servers need reverse-DNS setup (in progress). These are usually real — re-check once setup is complete.
unknown
A temporary error (greylisting or rate-limiting — "try again shortly") stopped us confirming this time. It's re-checked automatically in the background; you can also re-run it later.
